Mocoan Lontar Yusuf adalah tradisi yang dilakukan suku Osing Banyuwangi berupa pembacaan lontar (naskah) Yusuf. Lontar Yusuf merupakan kitab bertuliskan huruf Arab dengan bahasa Jawa Kuno yang dikenal oleh suku Osing sejak agama Islam masuk ke Banyuwangi. Lontar Yusuf digunakan sebagai sarana berdoa oleh suku Osing kepada Tuhan yang diharapkan agar memiliki kehidupan seperti Nabi Yusuf. Dinamakan Lontar Yusuf karena sebelum ada kertas, kisah Nabi Yusuf ditulis di daun lontar. Selain itu, bentuknya berupa puisi tradisional yang terikat dalam aturan yang disebut pupuh. Terdapat 12 pupuh, 593 bait, dan 4.366 larik di dalam Lontar Yusuf. Jenis pupuh dalam Lontar Yusuf ada empat yaitu kasmaran, durmo, sinom dan pangkur. Mocoan Lontar Yusuf merupakan tradisi yang erat dengan kehidupan spiritualitas warga suku Osing dan terus dilestarikan hingga saat ini. Ditetapkan Sebagai Warisan Budaya Tak Benda Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan RI menetapkan salah satu tradisi budaya masyarakat suku Osing Banyuwangi yakni Mocoan Lontar Yusuf sebagai Warisan Budaya Tak Benda (WBTB) 2019. "Alhamdulillah, pada tahun ini budaya dan tradisi Banyuwangi kembali dietapkan menjadi Warisan Budaya Tak Benda, melengkapi tradisi lain yang telah ditetapkan sebelumnya. Selain aspresiasi dari pusat, ini akan menambah semangat untuk terus lebih giat menjaga dan melestarikan tradisi luhur Banyuwangi," tutur Bupati Banyuwangi Abdullah Azwar Anas, Selasa (27/8/2019). 2. Mocoan Lontar Yusuf Biasanya Dilakukan Sebagai Pengiring Ritual Tradisi Mocoan lontar biasanya digelar sebagai bagian dari acara tradisi di Banyuwangi. Seperti acara ruwatan , bersih desa, atau petik laut serta pada acara ritual peralihan (tujuh bulanan, kelahiran, khitanan, pernikahan). Mocoan Lontar Yusuf berlangsung selepas isya dan baru berakhir menjelang subuh hingga lontar Yusuf itu khatam. 3. Mocoan Lontar Yusuf, Tirakat Suku Osing Banyuwangi Mocoan lontar Yusuf merupakan suatu ikhtiar untuk mengambil berkah dari kemuliaan para nabi. Diyakini dengan pembacaan lontar, harapan dan keinginan bisa terkabulkan. Meski arti bahasa lontar Yusuf ini tak dimengerti, kesakralannya tetap diyakini.
